Track of the Week: “Fools” by The Dodos

March 11, 2008

Makeshift drumsets, acoustic guitars, with a dash of the dream-like folk rock are a few of the many ingredients used to describe duo, The Dodos. Out of San Francisco, California, singer/songwriter Metric Long and percussionist Logan Kroeber met with a common aspiration to create this new way of portraying their contrasting playing styles into one comprehensive band. Realizing the damage that can be done, on March 18th they are coming out with their anticipated sophomore album entitled “Visiter” on Frenchkiss Records. The track “Fools” starts of with steady low pulsating drum hits right before the guitarist Metric refreshly enters with his rapid strumming on the guitar. This automatically catches the listener to the final words in the song, “I’ve been silent,” which is only true for about a week until their release of “Visiter” hits the stores.
