Misson Creek ’08 Preview

March 29, 2008

Mission Creek Music Festival 2008 is rapidly approaching. There are so many cool shows that are coming to Iowa City in the coming days/week that a whole post is highly needed. Click more to see shows that KRUI is looking forward to next week…

Here are some of the shows that KRUI is getting excited about:

— Bon Iver @ the Blackbox Theatre (IMU) — Bon Iver has released the best album of ’08 so far in For Emma, Forever Ago. Probably the most anticipated Iowa City show of the year. An exciting opportunity to see an up and coming artist. MYSPACE

“Flume”, Bon Iver (Live, Backstage Session)

— Neva Dinova w/ Headlights, Evangelicals, the Western Front @ the Picador — Omaha based Neva Dinova is touring in support of their great, soon to be released You May Already Be Dreaming. To make this show even better, Evangelical and Headlights share the bill. It’s like a super show. One of the best line-ups to hit Iowa City. MYSPACE

— Cursive w/ Capgun Coup, the Blacks, the Poison Control Center @ Mill — yes, Cursive in Iowa City. Enough said. KRUI favorites Poison Control Center share the bill. Should be a great show. MYSPACE

— Dan Deacon w/ Baby Teeth @ Picador — Deacon supplied Iowa City the best show of 2007, and he was JUST opening for Girl Talk. This show is going to be great. Sweaty greatness. MYSPACE

“The Crystal Cat”, Dan Deacon
